Welding is structural work, so it has to be done properly the first time. Rust eating into a sill, a blowing exhaust or a cracked engine mount is not just untidy, it changes how strong and safe the car is. We treat every weld as a repair you will rely on, whether it is a small patch or a full section.
The signs are usually easy to spot once you know them. Look for visible rust or bubbling paint along the sills and arches, an exhaust that has gone loud or rattles, cracks in metal around mounts and brackets, or a knock that turns out to be a loose bracket. Rust under the car is the one people miss, because it works away out of sight until it fails an MOT.
When you bring the car in we cut back to clean, sound metal rather than welding over corrosion, because welding onto rust does not hold. We patch or fabricate the piece that is needed, weld it in, and treat the repair so it lasts. On exhausts, chassis sections, floor and sill panels, brackets and mounts, we take the same approach, small fixes and bigger structural jobs alike.
Turnaround depends on how far the rust has gone and how much has to come off to reach good metal, so we will look at the car and tell you straight before any work starts. Many jobs go back same or next-day. You get a free quote once we have seen what the repair actually involves, with no work done until you say go.
Doing welding under the same roof as our paint and mechanical work makes a real difference here in Tottenham Hale. If a sill is welded, we can prep and paint over the repair so it blends in, and if the welding came out of an MOT failure we can sort the rest of the failure list at the same time. You are not driving between two or three garages to get the car road-legal.
We weld for drivers across North London, from Seven Sisters and Stoke Newington over to Wood Green, Walthamstow and Edmonton. We are open every day from 08:00 to 22:00, so if you have found rust before a test or an exhaust has started blowing, call us on 07349 766832 or message on WhatsApp and we will fit you in.
Strong, reliable welds
Signs you may need welding
Done safely, to a high standard
Good to know
Can welding help me pass my MOT?+
Often yes. Structural rust and exhaust faults are common MOT failures we can weld and repair, frequently same or next day.
Can you weld over the rust to save time?+
No, and we would not. Welding onto rusty metal does not bond properly and the repair will fail again, often quickly. We cut back to clean, sound metal first, then weld a patch or new section in and treat it so the rust does not come straight back. It takes a little longer but it is the only way the repair lasts.
My exhaust has started blowing. Can it be welded or do I need a new one?+
It depends where the fault is. A cracked joint, a hole in a section of pipe or a broken bracket can often be welded, which is cheaper than a full replacement. If a part has rusted through badly there may not be enough sound metal to weld to, in which case we will tell you. Bring it in and we will show you what we have found before quoting.
Alongside welding we provide same-day car paint, engine repairs, timing chains, brakes, diagnostics, suspension, MOT prep and full servicing in Tottenham Hale.
